The budget airline VietJet Air will launch two new routes in April and May to meet the increasing demand to travel from both domestic and foreign passengers.

The airline announced on Feb. 27 that a service linking Ho Chi Minh City and the central city of Da Nang will begin operating two flights per day from April 27 and another route between Ha Noi and Nha Trang will be launched on May 19 with one flight per day.

A spokesperson for VietJet Air said that the new routes, along with the increase of daily flights between HCM City and Hanoi to eight from April, are expected to cut travel times and costs for passengers.

Currently only operating domestic routes, VietJet Air is keen to add a number of international air routes to its schedules this year.

The airline first appeared in the Vietnamese market at the end of 2011, but have already made nearly 360 flights, carrying 40,000 passengers to various destinations./.
