The world’s leading aircraft manufacturer Airbus on October 29 handed over an A320 Sharklet to Vietjet Aviation JSC (VietJetAir) in Toulouse, France.

The A320 Sharklet is one of 100 aircraft the budget carrier has ordered from Airbus. The first was delivered at a ceremony in Paris on September 26 in the presence of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

The order, which is valued nearly 8.6 million USD, includes the purchase of 92 A320 family aircraft and the lease of eight more from third party lessors.

The new aircraft is scheduled to arrive at Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport in the next few days.

Carrying Pepsi’s logo on its body, the aircraft will take part in a programme launched by the drink producer aiming to help students and workers return home for the Tet holiday.

With the new A320 Sharklet, VietJetAir now possesses ten aircraft in total.-VNA
