The Vietnamese government wanted to boost mutually beneficiary cooperation with Malaysia in all fields, ranging from politics, diplomacy, economics, trade and investment to culture, labour, defence and security.

This statement was made by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung at a reception for outgoing Malaysian Ambassador Lim Kim Eng, in Hanoi on July 19.

He also expressed his wish that Vietnam and Malaysia would strengthen cooperation in building the ASEAN Community under the ASEAN Charter and maintain peace in the East Sea .

The Government leader spoke highly of the Malaysian Ambassador’s contributions to fostering bilateral cooperation during her term of office in Vietnam .

Ambassador Lim Kim Eng said that Vietnam and Malaysia see a great potential for cooperation, especially in economics, trade and investment.

She suggested the two countries create ideal conditions for their businesses to invest in each country, boost two-way trade and cooperate closely in the East Sea issue in accordance with the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.

On the same day, the outgoing Malaysian Ambassador was also received by Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung./.
