Vietnam Airlines (VA) branch in the Republic of Korea (RoK) has said it transported about 200,000 passengers and 3,800 tonnes of cargos on flights from the RoK to Vietnam in 2009.

The airline has met its annual target on passenger volume and surpass cargo target by 16 percent thanks to efforts to promote tourism destinations in Central Vietnam, Dao Manh Kien, Chief Representative of VA branch, said at a customers meeting recently in Seoul.

The branch worked together with major agents and travel agencies to organise Vietnam trips for journalists from RoK major newspapers in order to increase press coverage on the country, he added.

It also launched a website in the Korean language to provide passengers with services like flight schedule checking, ticket booking and online payment./.
