Vietnam has been voted as one of the 20 best countries in the world to visit, according to a survey released recently by the US travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler (CNT).

The country is the 12th destination that travellers want to visit, the results of annual Readers' Choice Awards of the CNT showed.

Well-known American chef Anthony Bourdain said the visit to Vietnam changed his life.

Vietnam just seemed like another planet with delicious dishes that keep travellers’ feet, he told CNT.

There is also the world's largest cave Son Doong in Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, he said.

The awards are based on the ratings and feedback of more than 128,000 readers.

For the fifth year in a row, Italy is the No. 1 destination that travellers want to visit, followed by France and the US.-VNA
