New York (VNA) – Representatives from the Vietnamese Permanent Mission to the United Nations (UN) on May 4 attended an international charity bazaar held at the UN headquarters in New York to raise funds for Syrian refugees.

The event, organised by the UN Women’s Guild (UNWG), drew the participation of more than 70 permanent diplomatic missions.

It featured cuisine from around the world as well as fine arts and handicrafts.

Addressing the bazaar, UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon stressed the importance of the event. He said the bazaar, the fourth of its kind, allowed nations to come together to build a sustainable world.

The bazaar is one of the major fundraising activities for people in difficult circumstances of the UNWG, a non-profit UN organisation.-VNA
