Vietnam awards doctoral degree to Angolan official
The Angolan Minister of Science and Technology and Chairman of
the Angola-Vietnam Intergovernmental Joint Committee, Maria Candida
Pereira Teixeira, has been presented with Vietnam ’s Doctorate of
Sciences.

Pereira Teixeira, has been presented with Vietnam ’s Doctorate of
Sciences.
The degree was presented by Vietnamese ambassador to Angola Pham Tien Nhien. Addressing the presentation ceremony, he congratulated Teixeira on her success in defending a doctoral thesis on nuclear physics. Teixeira is the first foreign woman to receive this type of degree in Vietnam .
He said he hopes that more Angolan scientists will follow suit and contribute to promoting Vietnam and Angola ’s friendship and cooperation in the fields of science and technology.
There are three other Angolan students currently writing theses on nuclear physics for Vietnamese doctoral degrees./.
