National Assembly Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu has expressed his hope that the legislative bodies of Vietnam and Kuwait will increase their cooperation by sharing their experience in law-making and supervision.

In a meeting with a delegation from the Kuwait-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians Group, led by Chairman Khalil Abdulla Ali, on September 8 in Hanoi, Luu said the two sides should also strengthen their support for each other at regional and international parliamentary forums.

Expressing his joy over the growing cooperation between Vietnam and Kuwait, he thanked the Kuwaiti side for supporting Vietnam’s natural disaster responses and providing preferential loans for infrastructure projects.

Luu said he hopes the two sides would continue their regular exchange of high-level delegations and boost their partnership in the fields of economics, trade and development assistance.

Khalil Abdulla Ali said his delegation’s visit to Vietnam - the first of its kind - aimed to enhance the relationship between the two countries and bolster bilateral trade cooperation.

He said Kuwait is ready to boost its ties with Vietnam and enhance the links between Vietnam and Arabian countries.-VNA
