The Supreme Procuracies of Vietnam and Bulgaria have signed a cooperation agreement to set up a legal foundation to foster their connection in the coming time.

Under the document, inked during the visit of Prosecutor General of the Vietnamese Supreme People’s Procuracy Nguyen Hoa Binh to Bulgaria from April 23-26, the two countries’ procuracy sectors will share information pertaining to crime prevention and support each other in personnel training and legal research.

During his stay, Prosecutor General Binh held talks with his Bulgarian counterpart Sotir Tsatsarov, where they shared experience in fighting crimes.

He was received by Bulgarian Vice President Margarita Popova, who expressed her hope that Bulgaria will serve as a bridge connecting Vietnam with European markets and Vietnam will help link Hungary with other ASEAN member nations.

Margarita Popova affirmed that she will do her utmost to step up judicial cooperation between the two nations.

According to Vietnamese Ambassador to Bulgaria Le Duc Luu, two-way trade between Vietnam and Bulgaria hit nearly 100 million USD in 2014. The European country has operated 11 projects worth 58 million USD in Vietnam.

In his visit to Vietnam in 2014, Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliv put forth a new bilateral cooperation model. Accordingly, Vietnam will ship its goods to Bulgaria’s ports for processing before going to other countries.-VNA
