Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Vu Trong Kim welcomed his counterpart from the Solidarity Front for the Development of the Cambodian Motherland (SFDCM) Min Khin in Hanoi on July 30.

Kim said the spirit of regular and close cooperation committed at the international conference on building a borderline of peace and friendship between VFF and SFDCM in 2009 and 2010 and the meeting between the fronts of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia in 2011 has helped tighten solidarity and friendship between the two countries.

He also informed his guest of Vietnam’s socio-economic development and the implementation of the policy of great national unity, maintaining social consensus, ensuring national defence and security, expanding external relations and improving the country’s position in the world arena.

Min Khin, who is also Minister of Cults and Religion of the Kingdom of Cambodia, stressed that regular cooperation activities in all fields between the two countries have highlighted the solidarity, traditional friendship, helping bring Vietnamese and Cambodian people closer.

The two fronts agreed upon the time, location and the contents of the international conference on building a borderline of peace and friendship in 2012 and measures to foster their cooperation in the future.

Accordingly, this year’s conference will focus on raising awareness on Vietnam-Cambodia traditional friendship and long-lasting solidarity for the two people, especially those in border areas.

Additionally, the two fronts will boost cooperation and friendly exchanges at all levels, contributing to building a reliable and equal development region ASEAN and Asia-Pacific./.
