Vietnam and Cambodia have seen bilateral economic ties improve this year with two-way trade of 2 billion USD.

This statement was made by Sam Samouth, Consul-General of the Cambodian Consulate in HCM City , and Truong Minh Nhut, Head of the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association’s HCM City Chapter, at a get-together to celebrate the 58th anniversary of Cambodia ’s Independence Day (Nov. 9) in Ho Chi Minh City on Nov. 8.

Vietnam has invested in key Cambodian sectors such as transport, banking, trade, tourism, agriculture, electricity, rubber, oil and gas, aviation and health.

Cambodia has welcomed 550,000 Vietnamese tourists since the beginning of this year.

The Vietnamese and Cambodian officials said they believed that friendship and cooperation between the two countries will develop further and become closer as the two countries’ leaders stated.
Ties between HCM City and Cambodian localities have developed within the bilateral relations and the cooperative project to construct Cho Ray Hospital in Phnom Penh is a fine example, said Nhut./.
