Vietnam attaches importance to the development of its relations with Angola and other African nations, said Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

At a reception given to visiting Angolan Vice President Fernando Dias Dos Santos in Hanoi on Feb. 15, PM Dung spoke highly of the talks between the Vietnamese and Angolan Vice Presidents, saying the result of the visit will make practical contributions to promoting the two countries’ cooperative relations.

The PM took the occasion to propose both sides increase coordination and mutual assistance at multilateral forums, exchange more delegations, beef up cooperation in education, culture and tourism and assist the Overseas Vietnamese community in Angola.

He also proposed that through the Vietnam-Angola Inter-Governmental Cooperation Committee, the two sides will increase two-way trade from last year’s figure of 160 million USD and assist Vietnamese businesses to invest in Angola’s agriculture, oil and gas, construction and telecommunications, among other fields.
