Sixty more confirmed cases of the A/H1N1 flu - a record number for a single day - have been reported as of 17:00 local time of July 27, bringing the total number of victims of the super flu in Vietnam to 672.

Of the new cases, southern provinces reported the largest number, 52, the north, 4, the central region, 2 and the Central Highlands, 2, according to Head of Health Ministry’s Preventive Health and Environment Department Nguyen Huy Nga.

To date, no deaths have been reported, 375 cases have recovered and been discharged from hospital. The rest are being quarantined and treated and are all in stable condition.

According to the European Centre for Disease Control (ECDC), as of July 27, there were 160,038 confirmed cases of the flu in 145 countries and territories, of which 991 were fatal./.
