Vietnam will join efforts with El Salvador to increase exchange, cooperation and practical activities to boost friendship and mutual understanding between the two countries’ people.

This was signalled at a meeting between Vu Xuan Hong, President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) and El Salvador ’s Foreign Minister Hugo Martinez, in Hanoi on April 1.

El Salvador ’s Foreign Minister and his entourage paid a visit to Vietnam from March 30 to April 1.

During the reception, VUFO President Hong stressed that the visit to Vietnam by El Salvador ’s Foreign Minister offered an opportunity for the two sides to put forward measures to bolster friendship between the two countries’ people while contributing to deepening mutual understanding.

Hong briefed his guest about recent activities carried out by VUFO, saying the union will strengthen its operations in the coming time to enhance the exchange, friendship and cooperation between the two nations.

For his part, the El Salvador officials of the VN- El Salvador Friendship Association pledged to make all-out efforts to contribute to stepping up bilateral relations in numerous areas.

During his visit to Vietnam, El Salvador’s Minister paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his Mausoleum, held working sessions with leaders of the Ministries of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Agriculture and Rural Development; Training and Education, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the military-run telecommunications group Viettel./.
