Vietnam places importance on multilateral ties with Australia, committing to creating conditions for Australian firms to seek cooperation and long-term investment in the country.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung made the commitment during his reception for Adam Giles, Chief Minister of Australia’s Northern Territory Government on October 28 in Hanoi .

PM Dung emphasised the potential cooperation between the two countries, expressing his desire to increase the exchange of high-ranking delegations and accelerate cooperation in economics, trade and investment.

He recommended the two sides continue to improve cooperation in security-national defence, as well as boosting education, science-technology, employment and tourism links.

He expressed his hope that Australia will maintain its high ODA provision to Vietnam along with facilitating the stable environment for the Vietnamese communities studying and living in the country.

For his part, Adam Giles affirmed Australia sees Vietnam as a crucial Asian partner, wanting to bolster its all-around ties with Vietnam .

He said his territory is ready to welcome Vietnamese businesses seeking cooperation and investment opportunities in Australia for both sides’ common interests.-VNA
