Lieutenant General Vo Van Tuan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, spoke highly of defence cooperation between Vietnam and France across education, military medicine, military industry and navy forces.

He made the statement during a reception for T.Vankerk-Hoven, Deputy Head of the Directorate of Security and Defence Cooperation under the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development in Hanoi on May 12.

At the meeting, the French official said that his visit to Vietnam was designed to seek expanded cooperation between the two countries while affirming France treasures its relations with Vietnam, including cooperation in security and defence.

The two officials agreed that although bilateral defence relations have seen numerous achievements, there is still considerable room for collaboration to be fostered between the two sides looking forward.-VNA
