A delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee (VFFCC) led by its Vice President Vu Trong Kim is on a working visit to Canada.

On Nov. 4-5, the delegation worked with the Canadian Parliament and met with the staff of Vietnamese representative agencies, the Bureau of the Vietnam News Agency and representatives of overseas Vietnamese at the “Vietnam House” in the capital city of Ottawa .

Kim, who is also Secretary General of the VFFCC, stressed that the VFF and its member organisations play an important role in the cause of national great unity as well as national construction and defence.

He highlighted the role and contributions made by more than 3.2 million Vietnamese people living, studying and working abroad, including those in Canada.

On the occasion, the Vietnamese Embassy in Canada held a ceremony to present a Resistance War Order, first class, to Ton Duy Minh, an overseas Vietnamese living in Montreal, in recognition of his contributions during the resistance wars against the French colonialists and US imperialists.

On Nov. 5, the embassy staff and Vietnamese people in Canada voted for Ha Long Bay to become one of the new seven wonders of the world./.
