The Vietnam Golden Heart Fund made its debut in Hanoi on Jan. 12, calling on individuals, organisations, and benefactors both at home and abroad to join hands to help the poor, AO/dioxin victims and families of soldiers and invalids.

Founded by Khanh Anh Trang Hanoi Trading Group Co Ltd (KAT Group), the fund also aims to support poor people nationwide and students who excel in their studies to overcome their difficulties as well as help implement poverty reduction projects in localities in Vietnam.

The fund is scheduled to open representative offices in other localities across the country and in foreign countries and three food stores each with around 300 tonnes of rice in stock also will be set up in the southern, northern and central regions.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Ha Van Nui highlighted recent active contributions of KAT Group to charitable activities in Vietnam, expressing his hope that the fund will operate actively in the future, contributing to social security.

On the occasion, the Fund and KAT Group presented 3,000 gifts, each worth 300,000-500,000 VND, to poor families, disadvantaged and AO/dioxin victims, families of soldiers and invalids in some northern provinces./.
