Hanoi (VNA) – The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has not considered the suspension of flights to France, CAAV Director Lai Xuan Thanh said on November 14 in the wake of a series of bloody attacks in Paris a day earlier.

He said the CAAV is working with relevant agencies to review the situation comprehensively since the French Government has tightened security across the country.

The authority is unable to make any decisions pertaining to the Vietnamese aviation sector’s flights to France at present, Thanh noted, adding that the Vietnam Airlines Corporation’s activities in the European nation are also connected with other airlines’ operations there.

Earlier in the morning, Vietnam Airlines General Director Pham Ngoc Minh said his firm was waiting for the French Government’s official decisions and information from its partners so as to make appropriate responses.

He emphasised the airline will ensure interests of passengers who have booked tickets to France, adding that it conducts 10 flights to the country every week.-VNA
