Vietnam wishes to further cooperation with Sudan, especially in economics and trade, in line with the two countries’ potential, said Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan.

While receiving Sudanese State Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Karti, who is on a four-day visit to Vietnam from October 5, Vice State President Doan said she was pleased with developing bilateral relations over the past time and thanked the Sudanese people for their support for Vietnam’s struggles for independence in the past as well as its current national development.

For his part, State Minister Karti highly valued Vietnam’s socio-economic development achievements during 20 years of renewal and the country’s increasing role and prestige in the region and the world as well.

He expressed his wish to further strengthen cooperation with Vietnam in all aspects.

During his stay in Vietnam, the Sudanese guest held talks with Deputy Foreign Minister Doan Xuan Hung and attended the Vietnam-Sudan Business Seminar.

The two sides discussed orientations and measures to boost multi-faceted bilateral cooperation, especially in agriculture, trade, and oil and gas.

They also exchanged views on regional and international issues of common concern.

The two sides agreed that they should make more efforts to speed up and improve their economic-trade relations as they still see a large potential for cooperation./.
