How to expand export links between Vietnam and the EU, particularly Italy, and improve business management of small- and medium-sized enterprises, were among others discussed at a recent workshop in Rome.

Participating Italian firms and trade associations highly evaluated the Vietnamese market, considering greater affiliation with Vietnamese companies as a priority in the near future.

While talking over detailed cooperation steps in the sectors of infrastructure, food processing and tourism, both sides committed to continue implementing joint projects.

The Vietnam-Italy economic cooperation workshop was jointly organised by the Trade Office at the Vietnamese Embassy in Italy and the General Confederation of Italian Industry (Confindustria), within the framework of a national commercial promotion programme devised by the Vietnam Association of Consumer Goods Development (VACOD).

The Vietnam – Italy joint committee on economic cooperation will host its second session in October in Rome. The first session was organised in Hanoi in November 2014.-VNA
