The Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Public Administration and Laos ’ National Academy of Politics and Public Administration (NAPPA) on November 18 signed a cooperation agreement on fostering cadre training and scientific research activities in the 2014-2018 period.

The signing is part of the working visit of a NAPPA delegation led by its Head Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune, who will stay in Vietnam until November 23.

Under the agreement, the Vietnamese academy will organise training for key Party and State leaders of the neighbouring country and hold refresher courses for NAPPA lecturers.

Moreover, the Vietnamese school will continue to send its experts to support the Lao partner’s teaching, and is ready to organise short-term refresher courses for Lao cadres in Vietnam .

Meanwhile, the Lao school will train Vietnamese postgraduates and graduates studying in the fields of Marxism–Leninism, public administration, organisation, inspection and the press apart from helping improve the Lao language level of the Vietnamese academy’s officials.

The two sides will also enhance scientific research cooperation and the sharing of experience and organise joint scientific research on issues of common concern.

Initially, they will team up to undertake research on making and implementing policies of expanding culture in the context of the two countries’ market-orientated economic development and international integration.

The two academies will also take turns holding conferences to promote exchanges of research outcomes, information and documents to meet their requirements.-VNA
