Hanoi (VNA) - Chief Judge of the Supreme People’s Court Truong Hoa Binh shared Vietnam’s experience in personnel training, law building and judgment with Lao Justice Minister Bounkeut Sangsomsak during their meeting in Hanoi on November 5.

Binh said judicial reform is identified as one of the major tasks in the country’s comprehensive renovation, which, he said, is stipulated in documents of the Party’s Congresses, especially two resolutions recently issued by the Political Bureau.

The host stressed Vietnam’s judicial reform has born fruits, as evidenced in significant changes in the national court system.

The 2013 Constitution has also made it clear the role and position of the people’s court– the only agency in the State apparatus exercising the judicial power and judgment, he said.

The official took the occasion to thank the valuable support of Lao agencies and Minister Bounkeut Sangsomsak in particular for the development of people’s courts of Vietnam.

In reply, the Lao Minister said his visit aims to foster relations between the two countries and exchange judicial experience with relev ant Vietnamese agencies.

Hailing Vietnam’s judicial reform over the past time, the guest said Laos is stepping up renovations in legal and judicial sectors through myriad measures, focusing on training judicial officials.

He expressed his hope to receive more support from the Supreme People’s Court of Vietnam in this field.-VNA
