Representatives of over 60 Departments of Construction nationwide and 50 Vietnamese and Japanese businesses on September 21 gathered in the central city of Da Dang to share their experiences in managing projects and construction quality.

The seminar, the third of its kind, was jointly held by Vietnam ’s Ministry of Construction, Japan ’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), and the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

At the seminar, the delegates focused their discussions on maintenance work that enhances the management of construction quality.

With such a huge demand for construction, especially in technical infrastructure works, both civil and industrial, Vietnam is making every effort to increase investment in this field.

Maintenance work has drawn special attention from the Vietnamese Government, State management agencies, investors, contractors and the public.

Japan is now Vietnam ’s largest provider of official development assistance, mostly aimed at building technical infrastructure and industrial complexes.

During the two-day seminar, the delegates have a chance to examine a project to improve railway bridge safety in Da Nang City and made a field trip to the Tien Son sports complex.-VNA
