The Government of Vietnam supports the cooperation between Vietnam ’s Ministry of Public Security and Mozambique ’s Ministry of Interior, especially in crime prevention and protecting their citizens, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has said.

PM Dung told visiting Mozambique ’s Minister of Interior Alberto Ricardo Mondlane at a reception on June 4 that Vietnam always attaches importance to and wishes to accelerate its cooperation with Mozambique for the two sides’ interests.

He added that Mondlane’s visit, which aims to increase the two countries’ security cooperation, will contribute to boosting their bilateral ties.

Both sides should further support each other at multilateral forums, increase cooperation in the fields of economics, trade and investment, and expand their cooperation in health, education and training and agriculture, suggested the Vietnamese Government leader.

The Mozambican Minister briefed PM Dung on his country’s socio-economic situation and stressed his country treasures its ties with Vietnam .

At present, many Vietnamese experts are working in Mozambique to assist the country in the fields of agriculture, telecoms and industry, while numerous Mozambican public security officers are joining training courses in Vietnam , the guest said.

Earlier on the same day, the visiting minister attended talks with Public Security Minister Tran Dai Quang.

The two ministers expressed their delight over the development of cooperation between the two ministries.

Quang said he hopes that in the coming time, the two sides continue strengthening their cooperation in preventing trans-national crimes, drug-related offences and money laundering, as well as in language training for the two sides’ officers.

Mondlane said he also wished to see further developments and deeper cooperation between the two ministries, which help maintain social order and national security in both country.-VNA
