The Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt and the Chamber of Commerce of Alexandria city jointly organised a conference on October 30 to promote Vietnam’s agro-forestry-fishery products and boost bilateral trade.

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Egypt Dao Thanh Chung highlighted the two countries’ trade cooperation potentials and ways to promote their relationship via trade fairs, exhibitions, and investment conferences.

According to Adel Aref, the international affairs advisor of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC), Vietnam should organise more conferences to provide Egyptian enterprises with helpful information on Vietnam’s market.

At the event, a number of import enterprises and large trade groups with headquarters in Alexandria city researched Vietnam’s product catalogue, while others were keen to find Vietnamese partners for the production and distribution of fodder.

Luna Mahgood, a representative from Egypt’s prestigious Al Mansour Group, said the company imports seafood products from Vietnam to supply the Metro supermarket chain, adding that their cooperation has been fruitful, boosting bilateral trade between the two countries.-VNA
