Vietnam ranked second with 41 gold, 29 silver and 21 bronze medals at the Asian Indoor Games 3, which concluded in Hanoi on Nov. 7 after nine days of competition.

China came first with 47 gold, 23 silver and 18 bronze medals. The third place went to Kazakhstan with 21 gold, 15 silver and 21 bronze medals.

On Nov. 7, the last day of the games, Vietnam won three gold medals, one silver and one bronze in Wushu. Of them, one gold was in Taolu and the remainder in Sanshu event.

In shuttle cock, the Vietnamese team ranked first with five gold medals.

In Pencak Silat, which took place in the northern province of Hai Duong, Vietnam took 7 gold, 2 silver and one bronze medals, ranking first in the event.

In chess, the Chinese team won the gold for a quick chess. The Vietnamese team received the silver and the Uzbekistan and India shared the bronze.

The gold medal of the men’s individual quick chess went to Chinese Wang Bin and the silver, to Xie Jing, also from China . The bronze medal of the event was carried off by Chan Chu Kit from Hong Kong .

In billiard and snooker, China led with four golds, two silvers and one bronze. The Republic of Korea came second with two golds and one bronze. Taiwan ranked third with one gold, one silver and three bronzes.

Athletes from the host country competed in all 10 events of billiard and snooker, but took only one gold and one silver.

In Muay and kick boxing competition, seven Vietnamese entered the finals and won two gold medals in kick-boxing and one in Muay, the first gold medal of Vietnam in Muay at a regional event.

The first place in Muay went to the Thai team, the land of the martial art, with four gold medals after their overwhelming victories in the women’s 51kg and 54kg divisions and the men’s 54kg and 60kg divisions.

Lao took a gold by defeating the host Vietnam in the men’s 51kg and Iran , Kazakhstan and China , each won a gold medal.

In bowling, which took place in Ho Chi Minh City, the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Korea, each took home three gold medals.

The UAE won in the men’s single, doubles and team events, while the RoK triumphed in the women’s single, doubles and team events./.
