In Vietnam , people’s right to freedom of belief and religion is clearly stipulated in the Constitution and is respected and ensured in reality. This is acknowledged by the international community.

Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesman Luong Thanh Nghi made the affirmation in Hanoi on Sept. 14 in reply to reporters’ questions on Vietnam ’s response to comments by the US Department of State on religious freedom in Vietnam stated in the Report on International Religious Freedom in the July 2010-December 2010 period.

Although the US Department of State’s report recorded Vietnam’s achievements in this field, it still continued to bring out subjective assessments and cite wrong information on Vietnam, he said./.
