The Vietnam-Russia diplomacy, defence and security strategy dialogue took place in Moscow on Nov. 28 and 29.

The Vietnamese delegation, led by Deputy Foreign Minister Ho Xuan Son and the Russian delegation, led by First Deputy Foreign Minister A. I. Denisov held in-depth discussions on international and regional issues, particularly in the Asia-Pacific, and bilateral cooperation as well as the two countries’ diplomatic relations.

The two sides discussed ways to enhance coordination between the two foreign ministries at the United Nations and other international forums, especially in inter-regional connectivity mechanisms.

While in Moscow, the Vietnamese delegation was received by the First Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Bulavin V.I. and met with scholars and experts from the Russian Academy of Science to discuss a number of issues of mutual concern.

The dialogue, the fourth of its kind, is held annually in line with a high-ranking agreement reached between the two sides during Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s official visit to Russia in September, 2007./.
