This statement was made by Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Le Thanh Hai while receiving a delegation of US senators led by Daniel K. Inouye and Thad Cochran in the city on April 29.
At the reception, the two sides expressed their wish to strengthen bilateral ties between Vietnam and the US in various fields and increase exchanges between the two countries’ young generations.
Senator Daniel K. Inouye, who is Chairman of the US Senate Appropriations Committee, said the delegation’s HCM City visit aimed to study more about the city’s role in the rapid economic development of Vietnam , as well as in the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
He affirmed that after this visit, he and his colleagues would continue to exert efforts to improve the relationship between the US and Vietnam. /.
