Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnamese and Singaporean volunteers will increase their mutual understanding and tighten relations via programmes for their common interests.

This is one of the contents of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation for the 2017-2019 period between the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee and the People’s Association of Singapore which was signed in Hanoi on June 20.

Under the document, the two sides will also increase delegation exchanges to consolidate ties as well as work closely on community development programmes and cultural activities.

Previously, Vice President and General Secretary of the VFF Central Committee Tran Thanh Man had a working session with a delegation from the Singaporean association led by its Chief Executive Director Ang Hak Seng.

During the session, the two sides updated each other on socio-economic development in their respective countries and reviewed the two sides’ cooperation during the period from 2014 to 2016.

Man spoke highly of the close collaboration between the VFF and the People’s Association of Singapore, saying that the two sides share the similar modes of operation and have the same goal of improving people’s living standards at grassroots level.
