Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam jumped a place from December 2015 to 146th in the FIFA rankings issued for January 2016.

The national team have not played any official match during the last two months but managed to gain nine points for rank improvement.

Regionally, Vietnam saw no change in positions, at 24th in Asia and 3rd in Southeast Asia.

In Southeast Asia, Thailand topped the rankings, followed by the Philippines.

Meanwhile, Iran came in first in Asia, followed by the Republic of Korea, Japan and Australia.

Belgium topped the FIFA table, followed by Argentina, Spain and Germany.-VNA
