Venezuelan Vice President Elias Jose Jaua Milano has affirmed his country’s commitment to making it easier, in terms of conditions and financial support, for joint oil and gas and agricultural projects with Vietnam.

The affirmation came after Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung raised difficulties facing Vietnamese investments, particularly in the oil and gas industry, in Venezuela, at his reception for the Vice President in Hanoi on March 12.

The Vice President told his host that President Nicolas Maduro has instructed the settlement of obstacles arising from oil and gas cooperation between the two countries.

PM Dung stated that Vietnam is determined to pump more investments into oil and gas in Venezuela while calling for the South American country’s support for an energy-saving light production project there.

He pledged full support for a future agriculture partnership with the South American country in response to the Vice President’s wish for assistance in the field.

He also affirmed that Vietnam always backs the constitutional Government of Venezuela and wished for the country’s stability and development.

According to the Venezuelan Vice President, at the freshly-ended meeting of the Inter-Governmental Committee, the two sides reached consensus on re-launching many important joint projects.-VNA
