Vietnam wins gold at international boxing tournament
Vietnam won a gold and a silver medal at the International Boxing Tournament Balkan 2015, which ended in Bulgaria on November 15.
Ha Thi Linh (R) (Photo: vietbao.vn)The gold medal was won by Hanoian Nguyen Thi Huyen Phuong in the women's 48kg category, while Ha Thi Linh, the 2013 Southeast Asian Games gold medallist, took the silver medal in the women's 57kg category.
Vietnam sent four boxers to the seven-day event, in which 130 competitors from 21 countries and territories participated.
"The tournament attracted leading European competitors, and gave Vietnamese players a chance to hone their skills and gain experience for the coming qualifying rounds of the 2016 Olympics," Vietnam's women's coach Nguyen Nhu Cuong said.-VNA
