Host Vietnam has grasped up to four gold medals on April 18, the last day of the 2010 Hanoi International Judo Tournament, sending the country’s total number of gold medals in this competition to six.

With superior techniques and tactics and great encouragement from Vietnamese fans, Tran Thuong, Bui Thi Khanh Du and Dao Le Thu Trang all won easily in the final matches of 73 kg, 78 kg and 45 kg categories respectively.

The fourth gold medal snapped on the day belonged to Sea Games 25 Champion Nguyen Thi Kieu.

Earlier, on April 17, Van Ngoc Tu and Huynh Nhat Thong won the first and the second gold medals for Vietnam in the women’s under-48 kg event and the men’s under-55 kg category.

The tournament also saw the upper hands of judo artists from the Republic of Korea (RoK) who gained a total of 10 gold medals.

Notably among foreign artists was Benjamin Nguyen, a young talent of Vietnamese and French origins, who won a bronze medal for France in the men’s 66 kg category.
