The sixth Vietnam-China Trade Fair opened in Lao Cai province on Nov. 11, drawing 167 Vietnamese and 112 Chinese businesses.

This is the biggest fair so far, with 617 booths plus a cuisine area.

In addition to traditional products, businesses showcase seafood, electronics, construction materials, fertilisers, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and rubber.

The organising board reserved an area for Lao Cai to exhibit its specialties and socio-economic achievements since 1991.

The fair is an opportunity for businesses from both countries to promote their products, seek partners and expand their markets.

A series of activities will be held, including talks between Lao Cai provincial leaders and a delegation from Yunnan, China; a conference on trade and investment promotion; an economic agreement signing ceremony; and an exchange on promoting trade through Lao Cai International Border Gate.

The organising board expects that 17 economic contracts worth about 180 million USD will be signed during the fair, up 66 million USD compared with the fair in 2009./.
