As many as 3,000 young Vietnamese people will attend the second Vietnam-China Youth Festival slated for November 24-27 in China.

Nguyen Manh Dung, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, said at a press briefing in Hanoi on November 20 that the event is a pragmatic activity that helps cultivate the friendship, mutual understanding and trust between the two countries’ young people, contributing to enhancing the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the neighbours.

A total of 5,900 young Chinese people from 31 cities, provinces and autonomous regions across China are expected to join their Vietnamese peers at the festival, he said

Following the festival’s opening ceremony at Dongxing border gate, major activities will take place in the eight cities of Liuzhou , Beihai, Qinzhou, Guigang, Yulin, Fangchenggang, Chongzuo and Nanning , he added.

According to Dung, the Vietnamese representatives will be divided into seven groups who will scatter to seven Chinese cities to attend the activities, which include visits to several historical sites associated with the Vietnamese revolution and President Ho Chi Minh, a seminar on industrial development, field trips to several Chinese factories and agencies, and cultural, sports and environmental protection events.

They will then gather in Nanning city for the main part of the festival with participation from the two countries’ Party and State leaders.-VNA
