A Vietnamese representative will be selected for competition at the 2013 MTV European Music Awards (MTV EMA), scheduled for Amsterdam, the Netherlands, in October.

The information was released by the MTV Vietnam website on July 21 and the site will be in charge of choosing the best candidate for MTV EMA 2013 – one of the world’s most prestigious music competitions.

As among few Vietnamese artists to receive an international music award, Pop star My Tam is hoped to take a berth to compete for the Best Worldwide Act of MTV EMA 2013. She won the Mnet Asian Music Awards last year (MAMA 2012).

The top ten Vietnamese artists will be announced on the social web at www.facebook.com/mtvvietnam.com.vn on July 22 for audiences to vote before their names are introduced to the region and the world.

Last year, the Best Worldwide Act of MTV EMA went to Big Bang, a famous K-Pop band, which won an overwhelming vote by music lovers worldwide.

MTV EMA 2012 was held in Frankfurt, Germany, when the Best Worldwide Act title was awarded to Han Geng, former member of Super Juniors.-VNA
