Vietnamese businesswoman arrested in Philippines returns home
A Vietnamese businesswoman who was arrested in the Philippines for carrying a bullet in her purse has returned home, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Le Hai Binh has said.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Le Hai Binh (Source: VNA)The arrest took place at Ninoy Aquino airport on November 7, which was immediately informed to the Vietnamese Embassy in the Philippines, the spokesman said at a regular press conference in Hanoi on November 12.
The Vietnamese Embassy promptly launched necessary protection measures for Vietnamese citizens abroad, he told the conference.
After completing administrative sanction-related procedures required by the host country, the businesswoman came back home, the spokesman said.-VNA
