Vietnam ’s children choir Sol Art won three awards at the 8 th International Johannes Brahms Choir Festival and Competition 2011 held in the Wernigerode city of Germany from July 7-10.

This year’s festival attracted 43 choirs from 17 countries and territories around the world.

The choir of 35 children from Vietnam choir won a gold medal for the category of traditional folk songs, a special prize for the favourite chorus chosen by the audiences and another prize for the most excellent performance style.

Speaking at a performance of the Sol Art choir to thank the sponsors and the leaders and people of Wernigerode city, Minister Counsellor of Vietnamese Embassy to Germany Bui Manh Cuong expressed deep gratitude to the city’s Mayor Peter Gaffert and benefactors in the city for their assistance to help Vietnam attend the competition.

Sol Art was founded in Hanoi by musician Dang Chau Anh in April 2008. The choir has been known widely for its participation in many big events in Vietnam . /.
