An array of issues that are challenging Vietnam’s socio-economic development caught interests of economists and researchers at the sixth Vietnamese Economists Annual Meeting.

As many as 50 presentations were sent to the meeting, which took place in Hue city, central Thua Thien-Hue province on June 18-19, to deal with how to stimulate economic and financial development and renovate economic management together with issues on economic policies and climate change.

The event also saw the participation of researchers from France, the UK, the US, Australia, Japan, China and managers from the World Bank and the United Nations Development Programme as well.
Nguyen Van Phat, Director of the Hue College of Economics (HCE) under Hue University said this was a chance for Vietnamese economists to seek closer ties with international colleagues.

The meeting was jointly organised by the Hue College of Economics (HCE), the Development and Policies Research Centre (DEPOCEN) and the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS).-VNA
