Yen Bai (VNA) – A cooperation scheme was signed between the northern province of Yen Bai and the French department of Val de Marne during a celebration of the 20th founding anniversary of their ties on October 31.

Two sides will continue closely working from now to 2019 through a wide range of projects on water resources, city waste treatment plant construction and Suoi Giang tea development as well as education and tourism.

Speaking at the event, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the People’s Committee Pham Thi Thanh Tra stressed that Yen Bai-Val de Marne relations have been expanded to many areas from the two initial fields of health care and clean water, thus helping two sides’ residents gain better understanding about each other’s cultures and peoples.

It also helps strengthen their friendship and cooperative relations, contributing to the socio-economic development as well as global integration of Yen Bai province, she added

President of the General Council of Val-de-Marne Senior Christrian Favier, for his part, highlighted the cooperation between two side’s organisations and agencies in their cooperated projects, contributing to enhancing understanding and relations of the two localities.

Over the last 20 years, two localities have jointly implemented 10 projects in health care, vocational training, rural development, water supply and waste water treatment, French teaching and mobile bus library .-VNA
