Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen on June 26 hosted a reception for a visiting delegation of the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association led by its Chairman Vu Mao.

At the reception, Hun Sen spoke highly of the delegation’s visit, saying this is one of the practical activities affirming the association’s key role in boosting solidarity and friendship between the two countries.

The PM recounted Vietnamese volunteer soldiers’ wholehearted sacrifices in assisting Cambodian people fight against the genocidal Khmer Rouge regime.

He confirmed the undeniable truth that Vietnamese volunteer soldiers shed their blood to help Cambodia revive and grow as it is now.

He expressed his pleasure at the operational effectiveness of the Vietnamese association and its Cambodian counterpart, suggesting the two sides continue visit exchanges and people-to-people diplomatic activities, especially between border provinces.

For his part, Mao congratulated Cambodia on its socio-economic development achievements, adding that his association will spare no effort to further expand links between the two people and reinforce the two countries’ flourishing friendship.

Earlier, the delegation held talks with its counterpart. They agreed to press ahead with cooperation activities to strengthen friendship, neighbourliness and mutual understanding between the two people.-VNA
