Vietnamese, Indian coast guard forces promote ties

strengthening of cooperation between the Vietnamese and Indian coast
guard forces in delegation exchanges, training, search and rescue and
environmental protection.

Vice Admiral Pham Ngoc Minh, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, made the statement while receiving Inspector General KR Nautiyal, Deputy Director General of the Indian Coast Guard, in Hanoi on September 8.
He noted with pleasure that together with the Vietnam-India strategic partnership, the bilateral defence ties have seen comprehensive and effective developments over the past time.
Starting with posting the defence attaché in each country’s embassy, the two countries then signed a memorandum of understanding on defence cooperation. They have now set up the Strategic Dialogue at the level of vice-minister of defence.-VNA
