The Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and the Italian news agency AGI have signed an agreement to beef up their cooperation in journalism.

The deal, signed by VNA General Director Nguyen Duc Loi and AGI head Gianni Di Gionanni on June 6 in Rome , allows the two agencies to exchange information, share professional skills and work together to bring more news on economic and cultural ties between Vietnam and Italy.

The two sides will also organise training courses for staff of each side and hold various communications cooperation activities.

General Director Loi and his Italian counterpart also reviewed the implementation of the signed agreements and discussed new measures to increase their partnership efficiency in the future.

Established in 1950, the AGI (Agenzia Giornalistica Italia) has been the leading independent news agency in Italy.

AGI news, available in six different languages, focus mainly on economics and industry. It has 16 offices in Italy and eight bureaus abroad, with reporters covering more than 40 countries. The AGI has established partnership with 23 foreign news agencies.-VNA
