Authorities of the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai on May 30 held a memorial and burial service for the remains of 86 Vietnamese volunteer experts and soldiers who fell down in neighbouring Cambodia during the past war.

The province’s search team found the remains during the 2012-2013 dry season in three northeastern Cambodian provinces of Ranatakiri, Stung Treng and Preah Vihear.

Over the past years, the provincial research team in coordination with Cambodia’s local authorities and people h as repatriated remains of 1,230 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who laid down their lives in th e three provinces.-VNA
