Paris (VNA) – The Vietnamese delegation to the 37th Congress of the French Communist Party (PCF) had a number of working sessions with French politicians from June 4-6 to bolster their ties.

Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and head of the committee’s Organisation Commission Pham Minh Chinh worked with Secretary General of the French Ministry of Interior Denis Robin, Minister of State for State Reform and Simplification Jean-Vincent Place, and Governor and President of the Val-de-Marne General Council Christian Favier.

During the meetings, the two sides recognised positive cooperation between Vietnamese and French localities, businesses and agencies. Apart from trade links, delegation exchanges contributed to deepening the two countries’ strategic partnership.

They agreed to bolster cooperative ties and prepare for French President Francois Hollande’s Vietnam visit in September.

French officials shared experience in administrative reform, simplification of administrative procedures, and application of information technology in the field, as well as high-level official training, distance training, and public policy.

They expressed their willingness to work with Vietnam in fields of mutual interest.

Chinh informed French partners of recent tensions in the East Sea and Vietnam’s viewpoint on addressing disputes there.

He also briefed them on the achievements of the Vietnamese Party and people over 30 years of renovation along with current difficulties and challenges.

He asked France to promote multi-faceted cooperation with Vietnam and help businesses of the two countries overcome difficulties and increase investment.

On the sidelines of the Congress, the Vietnamese delegates met with international friends to inform them of the outcome of the 12th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and discuss cooperation in the coming time.

Vietnam also invited countries to participate in the 18th International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties that it will host in October.-VNA
