Eighty Vietnamese businesses will take part in the 2014 Vietnam -Myanmar Trade, Service, Tourism Fair (Ho Chi Minh City Expo), which is slated for June 26-30 in Yangon city of Myanmar.

They will display a variety of products ranging from processed food, plastics and household utensils to garment-textile, cosmetics, footwear, timber products and interior decorations at 110 stands.

The event, the fourth of its kind to be held in Myanmar , provides a good chance for local firms to seek partners and establish a commodity distribution channel in the market.

A highlight of the fair will be a “Common House” featuring images of solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Myanmar as well as introducing achievements in politics, culture and economics of Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City in particular.

Myanmar consumers will also have a chance to enjoy Vietnamese dishes at 22 food stalls.

Vietnamese businesses have always sought opportunities to provide Myanmar consumers with high-quality products at competitive prices, said Director of Ho Chi Minh City’s Investment and Trade Promotion Centre Pho Nam Phuong.

Many of them have distributors in Yangon and Mandalay cities, such as Saigon Cosmetics and Rang Dong Plastic Joint-Stock companies and Vietnam Electric Wire and Cable Corporation, Phuong added.-VNA
