Three Vietnamese students at the Finance Academy of Russia have won scholarships of Potanin’s Charity Fund, one of the most prestigious awards in Russia, for the 2012-2013 year.

The grants were awarded to the fourth-year student Vu Dinh Phuong and two others in the second year, Tran Quoc Khanh and Hoang Tran, who are studying at the academy’s Credit and Finance Department.

The three winners were among 20 outstanding students with highest records selected from 60 leading state-owned universities in Russia for the yearly prize of 60,000 Ruble (2,000 USD) each. Phuong alone has achieved the grant for the second time.

Previously, in the 2009-2010 school year, Tran Nguyen Phan, a third-year student at the same faculty, was the first Vietnamese trainee to win the scholarship.

Established in 1999, the Potanin’s Charity Fund supports education and culture projects with a total annual fund of over 300 million Ruble (nearly 10 million USD).-VNA
