Vietnamese, US trade unionists increase collaboration

to boost the partnership between the two countries’ trade unions.

Ngoc Tung held talks with President of the United Food and Commercial
Worker International Union (UFCW) Joseph Hansen in Hanoi on October 29
to boost the partnership between the two countries’ trade unions.
Both sides introduced their respective unions’ structures and activities, and expressed their hope to increase cooperation in the field via delegation exchanges and sharing experience.
The host stated that the Law on Trade Union and the Law on Labour, approved by the National Assembly in June 2012, have brought the interests and rights to Vietnamese trade unionists.
The VGCL is accelerating the development of trade unions in businesses, especially private and foreign invested enterprises.
The confederation currently has over 8 million members./.
